About the Conference
The International Conference ‘Impact of Gandhian Ideals on Socio – Economic, Cultural and Literary Aspects’ comes in the wake of the 150th Anniversary of the birth of the Father of our Nation – Mahatma Gandhi. Organized by the departments of English, Indian Languages and Social Sciences in collaboration with IMRF Institute of Higher Education & Research, this conference will address significance of Gandhian ideals and their impact on various aspects of philosophy and thinking in the modern times. The conference will include pioneering research in English Literature, Indian Languages and Social Sciences with regard to Gandhian ideologies.
About Ch.S.D.St.Theresa’s College for Women
Founded in 1953 by sisters of St. Ann of Providence, Secunderabad (The Sisters of St. Ann is a Congregation dedicated to the cause of Women’s education). It offers Intermediate, Degree and Postgraduate courses to the girl students. The college was affiliated to the Andhra University which granted autonomy to the degree section during the year 1987-88. The college was assessed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 1998, 2005 & 2012 and was awarded ‘A’ Grade with Top Score. The University Grants Commission conferred the award of COLLEGE WITH POTENTIAL FOR EXCELLENCE in the year 2005. The College is currently affiliated to Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram.
As a sequel to the “College with potential for excellence (CPE)” status granted in the year 2006 CH.S.D.St.Theresa’s College for women, has been conferred with the coveted award of “College of Excellence” (CE) in the year 2018. University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), and Government of India, has given this prestigious recognition. The newly acquired CE status will be another milestone achieved in the glorious history of St. Theresa’s College.
St. Theresa’s is one of the only two colleges in Andhra Pradesh to have been bestowed with the CE status. Under RUSA 2.0, component 8 the college was sanctioned a grant of Rs.5 Crores, to be utilized during the period before March 2020. This funding is for the enhancement of quality teaching, research and extension activities in the campus. St. Theresa’s College is a Catholic Minority Institution, but it is open to all the students as well. In carrying out its aims the college as a minority institution, reserves for itself its inherent and constitutionally recognized rights of Management and Administration.
INTERNATIONAL MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH FOUNDATION (IMRF) is an Academic Research Association of Scholars, Academicians & Scientists from India and Abroad committed to promote value & ethical research in the young research scholars & modern society.
