Rural Horizons 2026 is an international multidisciplinary conference dedicated to advancing transformative research, innovation, sustainable development, and interdisciplinary collaboration in Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Rural Development, and Social Sciences. About the Department
Arul Anandar College Offers a distinctive "Rural Development Science" integrating Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Biological science and social science to promote sustainable rural livelihoods in India. Guided by the policy "University towards villages," the department includes professionals in veterinary and agricultural sciences. We operate free veterinary clinics and an extension Centre, and maintain dairy, piggery, and poultry farms to provide practical training for students and farmers from 50 surrounding villages.
Our staff specialize in animal husbandry, agriculture, and sociology. Since 2013, the department has been recognized as a research centre by Madurai Kamaraj University. The RDS lab features an advanced veterinary hospital, scientific dairy, piggery, and poultry farms, supporting farmers, students, and research scholars. The lab is equipped with a Mini dairy plant, Micro Kjeldahl apparatus, a Biosafety cabinet (Grade II), a bomb calorimeter, a spectrophotometer, a muffle furnace, an autoclave, a hot air oven, biological incubators, and poultry hatching and brooding equipment. Our staffs have completed both minor and major projects funded by DST, DBT, IJGC, TNSCST, and DAE
